A letter from the National Arts Fundraising School

At the National Campaign for the Arts, we believe in public investment in the arts. But over the past decade, arts funding has been severely reduced; our Arts Index shows the extremity of that decline. Our Hearts for the Arts Awards recognise Local Authorities making provisions for arts and creativity in their communities - against the financial odds. But here, the National Arts Fundraising School offers a solution.

Dear colleague,

This past year has been a struggle for everyone in the Arts – from local authorities to small touring companies. We’re sending love and admiration to those of you who are making it through. But if you’re looking to the future you need to be making new fundraising relationships now.

The National Arts Fundraising School has been guiding participants to build those relationships for almost 35 years. In that time we’ve helped attendees, including many local authorities, leisure trusts and independent arts organisations, raise almost £400M. James Brindle, Executive Director of Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure and Culture, formerly East Lindsey BC, has sent many of his staff to the school, and says:

“The School team have helped us on our journey from local authority department to ambitious cultural development agency. We began by sending two team members and since then NAFS have become our ‘go-to’ recommendation for Local Authority culture organisation training.”

How can you create your own sustainable growth strategy? Simple. Invest for success by signing up for the programme online or onsite.

The Spring 2021 school will be online, running for 1.5 days a week over April, May & June 2021. (So time to combine learning with the day job.) There are only 20 places on each course, and the first 2 schools have sold out.  So we’re planning a 3rd school over these dates too. If you act quickly and register your interest, we could help you to:

  1. develop a long-term strategy helped with a mixture of one to one coaching and small group learning – helping you build for a time past the current challenges. (And you’ll have access to 180 days of follow up support.)
  2. leave equipped with practical techniques –to craft a powerful foundation proposal, to assess a major donor’s philanthropic preferences over the phone, and to put together a pitch for a corporate (and much, much more).
  3. work with outstanding programme leaders – among the top people in their fields. A team with backgrounds in charity and cultural fundraising, corporate and HNWI, online mass and hard-to-sell projects.

Finally, don’t forget about your 100% MONEY BACK GUARANTEE. If you don’t raise a sum at least equal to the School fee within 12 months, we’ll refund the fee. All of it. Making this a risk-free investment – who doesn’t love that?

Find out more by visiting the NAFS website, where you can watch a recording of our recent Discovery webinar which will answer your questions. If you’ve any other queries, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.

Best wishes,
